Starting now Amazon is not the only major technology company
that has expanded to the West Coast as it was in the past.
Apple announced on Thursday its new $ 1 billion investment
plan in Austin, Texas, to build a 133-acre campus - less than a mile from
existing facilities - and will provide 5,000 additional employees working on a
wide range of tasks, Customers.
According
to company forecasts, this move may make Apple the largest private employer in
Austin.
"Apple and Austin share an innovative spark and
commitment to achieve big things," Austin Mayor Steve Adler said in a
statement. "We share their commitment to diversity and inclusion, and we
are excited that they are helping to bring more medium-skilled jobs to the
region."
All of this Apple's expansion does not stop only in the
state of color Stratqt. But plans to set up a smaller group of sites in
different areas such as Seattle, San Diego and California City.
Beyond that, the company also aspires to establish similar
sites in Pittsburgh, New York and Boulder, Colorado, over the next three years,
with "additional expansion potential" elsewhere over time.
Apple took the move after Amazon announced last month that
it would set up a new headquarters in Long Island City, Queens and Arlington,
Virginia, after 14 months of research. Each site will receive 25,000 jobs.
